About the Oneness Blessing ( Deeksha ) Process

The Deeksha process was initiated by the Mukti Avatar Sri Bhagavan, in 1989. An Avatar is a divine incarnation; in other words, a manifestation in human form, of Divine consciousness. A Mukti Avatar is a being with the power to impart enlightenment. Sri Bhagavan works together with his wife Sri Amma, for the sole purpose of ending humanity’s suffering by bringing about enlightenment. From childhood, Bhagavan knew he was different, experiencing deep concern over the suffering of humanity. Unlike most children he spent much of his time outside of school alone, contemplating a solution to this suffering. It was at Jeevashram, the school he started in 1983 (at the site now known as Satyaloka) that Bhagavan first initiated the Deeksha process. Deeksha is a highly mystical phenomenon involving the transmission of Divine energy to the recipient. It is sometimes referred to as “gold ball initiation” or the “golden ball phenomenon”, because it may be experienced as a golden ball of light or energy entering the body through the top of the head (the crown chakra). In July 1989 Bhagavan placed this “golden ball” into the crown chakra of his son Krishna and shortly thereafter a wave of enlightenment spread throughout the school. While the children were amazed and gratified by the phenomenon the authorities and many of the parents were disturbed by what was taking place. Bhagavan, realizing the world was not yet ready, withdrew this gift. A few years later, now young adults, a small group of these original students approached Bhagavan and asked him to become their spiritual teacher. With the consent of their parents they became the first students of the Golden Age Foundation. The Golden Age Foundation later created the Oneness University at Golden City, near the village of Varadayapalem, 90 ks North of Chennai in Southern India. In January 2004 the first 21 day Enlightenment Process Retreat for westerners took place at the university. In March 2005 I was blessed to participate in this process along with more than 100 other people from 14 different countries around the world. These people represented a variety of backgrounds, occupations, & spiritual or religious inclinations. Ages ranged from 20 to over 70 years. As a spiritual seeker for many years I am profoundly grateful for the Grace that saw me journey to India to undertake this process. In gratitude and love I now allow the Divine process of my life to unfold. Bhagavan tells us that all of humanity is now ready to evolve into higher consciousness, into union with our Higher Self, with the Divine. Deeksha initiates change in the neurobiology & in the chakra system (psychic body), allowing this process to unfold. This is not a process based in any religious belief or dogma. It is a process grounded in Divine Consciousness, of which each & every one of us is a part. This process opens one’s heart to experience the Divine in whatever form that is perceived by the individual.
